Principal's Message

Hello families!

Welcome to the Early Childhood Education Center! It is an honor to serve as your principal and to welcome your family to our school community.

Early childhood education has been my passion for nearly 15 years. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in many different roles, including teaching assistant, Head Start teacher, preschool special education teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. Each experience has strengthened my belief that the early years are among the most important in a child’s life. These foundational years shape future learning, relationships, confidence, and success, and I am grateful every day to be part of that journey with children and their families.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with endorsements in Technology Specialist and English as a Second Language, my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, and my doctorate in Educational Leadership, all from National Louis University. My doctoral research focused on the importance of play-based learning, an area I care deeply about and continue to advocate for. I believe children learn best through meaningful, developmentally appropriate experiences that meet them where they are and encourage curiosity, creativity, and growth.

As a mother myself, I understand how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care. That trust is something I never take for granted. Our dedicated staff is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where every child feels accepted, valued, and excited to learn.

At the ECEC, we know that strong relationships are the foundation of learning. Before children can take risks, solve problems, or discover new ideas, they need to know they are cared for and supported. We celebrate each child’s unique strengths and work together to help every learner build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

I also believe that education is strongest when schools and families work together. Open communication and meaningful partnerships are essential to supporting every child. I appreciate the opportunity to connect with families through ParentSquare and encourage you to reach out whenever you have questions, ideas, or simply want to share in your child’s successes. My door is always open, and I value the opportunity to partner with you throughout your child’s preschool experience.

Thank you for entrusting us with these important early years. I look forward to getting to know your family and celebrating all the wonderful milestones your child will achieve. Together, we will build a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Warmly,

Dr. Caylee Villegas
