Welcome to Wood Dale’s Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC)!

The mission of the Early Childhood Education Center is to provide a safe, nurturing, high-quality child-centered learning environment that fosters individual success and a love of learning in partnerships with families and the community.

ECEC is home to the Preschool-For-All (PFA) Program! ECEC is proud to have a well-established PFA that was awarded funding by the State of Illinois through a competitive grant application process. This grant has given us the opportunity to provide eligible students with a 5 day a week half day program that includes a healthy snack and bus services for our preschoolers all provided at no charge to families.

To ensure a high-quality program, each classroom has one Early Childhood Special Education/ESL Teacher and at least one paraprofessional, with the class sizes ranging from 10-20 students. The ECEC program uses the researched-based Creative Curriculum that aligns to the Illinois Early Learning Standards. Students are encouraged to learn through meaningful play-based learning experiences and work collaboratively with other children.

At ECEC we have three core values: Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Ready to Learn. The staff and students demonstrate these core values to one another throughout the school day which prepares our students for successful educational futures.

Our vision at ECEC is that all children will be given a high quality educational foundation that promotes curiosity, exploration, and independence allowing them to become lifelong learners and productive members of their community.

Partnerships with families are important to the success of our program. We welcome family members to volunteer and participate in the parent education programs offered throughout the year. There are always new opportunities for families to connect, check our ECEC calendar for events!

At ECEC, the Preschool-For-All Program (PFA) is open to all eligible children in Wood Dale School District boundaries. Should you be interested in learning more about the program, please contact Ms.Xiomara Herrera at 630-694-1174 or email her at xherrera@wdsd7.org. All potential students must go through the developmental screening process. Screenings are free and held regularly throughout the school year. Please click here for more information.
