Developmental Screening for Children Ages 3-5
Preschool Screening and Enrollment
Wood Dale School District 7 offers free, half-day preschool programming for eligible children ages three through five who live within District 7 boundaries.
Developmental screening helps our team learn about your child’s strengths, development, and individual needs. Screening is also used to help determine eligibility and the most appropriate next steps for your child.
School Hours
Morning Session: 8:15–10:50 a.m.
Afternoon Session: 11:40 a.m.–2:15 p.m.
Preschool students attend Monday through Friday.
Registration
Families whose children are accepted into an ECEC program will receive instructions for completing Wood Dale School District 7 registration and providing required residency, health, and enrollment documents.
1. Register Online
Complete the Wood Dale School District 7 online registration.
This lets our office know you’re interested in preschool and begins the enrollment process.
2. We Contact You
Once registration is received, an ECEC staff member will contact you to schedule your child’s developmental screening.
We’ll answer questions and explain what to expect.
3. Developmental Screening
Meet with our screening team while your child participates in fun, play-based activities.
Please allow approximately 45–60 minutes for your appointment.
4. Next Steps
After reviewing the screening results, we’ll contact you regarding preschool placement, recommendations, or any additional next steps.
We’ll guide you through the remainder of the process.
Completing a screening does not automatically guarantee placement in an ECEC preschool classroom.
